This fusion sits at the intersection of two influential cultural areas, supported by organic archival IG accounts posting diverse content related to nature, technical apparel, and memes understood by the community.
Arc'teryx, considered the leader of Gorpcore, plays a significant role. SUBTYPE's partnership with Arc'teryx includes an interview with an early adopter, @Unownedspaces, discussing the trend's history, cultural impact, and attracting engagement from figures like Frank Ocean.
